Easy Apple Crumble
Ingredients:
For the filling:
4 medium apples (peeled or unpeeled—your call)
2 tablespoons sugar (white or brown)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
teaspoon lemon juice (optional)
1 tablespoon flour or cornstarch (for thickening)
95 grams or ¾ cup Plain flour
70 grams or ⅓ cup brown sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch of salt
85 grams or 6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into cubes
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) or 180°C Fan. Grease your baking dish lightly with butter or oil.
Chop your apples into small chunks.
Toss them in a bowl with sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and flour.
Spread the apples evenly in your baking dish.
Make the crumble topping
In a bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add the cold butter and rub it in using your fingers or a fork until the mixture looks like damp sand or coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
Bake for 35–40 minutes, until the top is golden and the apples are bubbling at the edges.
Let it cool for at least 10 minutes—it’ll be very hot! Then serve warm, with ice cream if you like.
Easy Apple Crumble does not get any easier than this.
