
Easy Layered Trifle
Ingredients:
Sponge fingers or leftover cake
200g (7oz) mixed berries or chopped fruit
500ml (17.5 fl oz) custard
300ml (10 fl oz) whipped cream
2–3 tbsp sherry or fruit juice (optional)
Chocolate shavings or festive sprinkles for decoration
Steps:
Layer sponge fingers or cake in a trifle dish. Drizzle with sherry
Add a layer of fruit.
Pour custard over fruit, chill 30 mins.
Top with whipped cream and decorate with chocolate or sprinkles. Optional: repeat layers for dramatic effect. Warning: someone will probably dig in before serving.
